Help for Someone Else

Are you concerned about a person in your life who is abusing alcohol or other drugs? A loved one, a relative, a colleague, a friend? Someone’s use of alcohol or drugs is a problem for you when they behave in ways that are distressing or harmful to you. You may feel ashamed of their behaviour, the money spent on alcohol may be causing you financial problems or you may feel unsafe.

Perhaps you feel deeply that alcohol or other drugs are a problem for the person who is using them. They affect health, wellbeing and relationships or the ability to live a productive life. It could be so serious that the person’s ability to hold down a job or care for children is affected.
